About Chi Alpha

What is Chi Alpha?

Chi Alpha is a multi-national movement of college students earnestly following Jesus. We are on over 275 campuses here in the U.S. and have a close association with hundreds of other groups around the world. As a community we commit to help each other and others to Realize Jesus Christ, Receive Transformation, and Reflect Truth to our Campus!. (2 Cor 5:17; Romans 12:2

Realize Jesus

...Because all have sinned before a holy (sinless) God and all who believe in Christ as Lord of their lives will find His grace in salvation.  This grace is by God’s choice alone and cannot be earned. - Romans 3:22-23

…Who has given us a responsibility to tell others about His good news. How can they know unless they are told? - Acts 8:30-31; 10: 14-15

Receive Transformation

…By salvation that comes to all who call, and by recognizing that we have a responsibility to call, daily, on the name of the Lord. Jesus wants to save us from eternal suffering, but also the attacks of the enemy (Satan). - Romans 10:11-13

…Through a salvation that happens at once, but is also lived out as a continual process.  Each day we make choices to move closer to God or further away from Him.  God calls us by the Holy Spirit to become more like Him. Many wise ministers have said, “we are saved, we are being saved, and we will be saved.”- 1 Cor. 1:18

...By our diligent study of His word together. - Colossians 3:16 ; 2 Timothy 3:16

Reflect Truth
…Because God calls us to make disciples of all nations. He did not leave one group of people out of His plan.  God has empowered us with the Holy Spirit to do this work in the world.  He is working in us and through us! - Luke 24: 46-49

…As God has taught us much through His Word, what we learn is not to remain with us.  He calls us to equip others with that knowledge that God may transform their lives and lead them to becoming transforming agents for Him. - 2 Timothy 2:2

In all of this we are passionately moved to “Make the most of every opportunity!”

So be careful how you live. Don’t live like fools, but like those who are wise. Make the most of every opportunity in these evil days. - Ephesians 5: 15-16

What We Believe
We believe that the Bible is living and relevant and is the only inerrant word of God.  We believe that mankind receives justification from God through His grace alone and that faith in Jesus is the only way to receive salvation.  Chi Alpha is represented by students from all different backgrounds and denominations. Everyone is invited to be a part of our community, whether you are a Christian or not.

Our Name
The Greek letters Chi (X) and Alpha (A) are the initials of a phrase written by the Apostle Paul in the Bible. "Chi" stands for Christ and "Alpha" for ambassadors. As ambassadors, we are "Christ's sent ones". The name is a reminder that we should live to reflect and reconcile others to Jesus. (2 Cor. 5:20)membership requirements. We are an interdenominational fellowship that is supported by the Assemblies of God.

Even though our name is composed of Greek letters, we are not affiliated with the Greek system. We are an open group with no fees or memebership requirements. Students from any background are welcome and invited to be a part of Chi Alpha.

Where we meet
Our weekly meeting "Realize" happens on Tuesday nights at 7:00 at the Gateway Center (first floor). Every week, our student led worship team leads our group in a contemporary service, and our campus pastor, Nathan Wesson, presents a message relevant for today's college student.

In addition, both our men's and women's IMPACT groups meet on and off campus during various times throughout the week. One of our student leaders or staff would love to be in touch with you about how to connect.
If you would like to know more about Chi Alpha or have questions about getting involved, you can fill out this contact form so that our staff team can assist you.
