|
What is Chi Alpha?
Chi Alpha is a multi-national movement of college students earnestly following Jesus. We are on over 275 campuses here in the U.S. and have a close association with hundreds of other groups around the world. Here at The University of North Texas our mission is: Transformation through Christ centered community in our university and beyond.
Our core values are:
- Sharing Jesus - At Home & Abroad (Matthew 28:18-20)
- Connecting - To One Another & To Others (Ephesians 4:2-3, Philippians 2:3-4)
- Growth - Spiritually & Practically (Proverbs 1:2-7)
- Worship - In Song & In Life (Romans 12:1)

What we believe
We believe that the Bible is living and relevant and is the only inerrant word of God. We believe that mankind receives justification from God through His grace alone and that faith in Jesus is the only way to receive salvation. Chi Alpha is represented by students from all different backgrounds and denominations. Everyone is invited to be a part of our community, whether you are Christian or not.

Where we meet
Our weekly meeting "Realize" happens on Tuesday nights at 7:00 at the Gateway Center, room 43. Every week, our student led worship team leads our group in a contemporary service, and our campus pastor, Nathan Wesson, presents a message relevant to today's college student.
In addition, both our men's and women's IMPACT groups meet on and off campus during various times throughout the week. One of our student leaders or staff would love to be in touch with you about how to connect.

Our Name
The Greek letters Chi (X) and Alpha (A) are the initials of a phrase written by the Apostle Paul in the Bible. "Chi" stands for Christ and "Alpha" for ambassadors. As ambassadors, we are "Christ's sent ones". The name is a reminder that we should live to reflect and reconcile others to Jesus.- II Cor. 5:20
Even though our name is composed of Greek letters, we are not affiliated with the Greek system. We are an open group with no fees or membership requirements. We are an interdenominational fellowship that is supported by the Assemblies of God. Students from any background are welcome and invited to be a part of Chi Alpha.
